US-ICE CREAM RECALL

Ice cream maker issues recall over concerns about plastic

SUMMARY: An Iowa-based ice cream manufacturer has recalled nearly 18,000 containers of ice cream and frozen yogurt over concerns they could contain pieces of plastic. Wells Enterprises issued the voluntary recall last month, according to recently released information from the Food and Drug Administration. The company’s brands include Blue Bunny and Halo Top ice cream products. The recalled products have “Best If Used By” dates ranging from March to October 2026.

Residents dig out from tornado damage after storms kill 28 in Kentucky, Missouri and Virginia

SUMMARY: Residents in Kentucky and Missouri are digging through tornado-stricken neighborhoods and clearing debris after storms swept through parts of the Midwest and South that left more than two dozen people dead. Kentucky was hardest hit in the storms that began Friday. A tornado there damaged hundreds of homes and tossed vehicles, and state officials say that by Sunday at least 19 people had died. In St. Louis, city officials say five people died and thousands of homes were damaged. Residents remained on edge with more heavy rains, thunderstorms and possibly tornadoes predicted across the nation’s midsection.

But Buffett plans to sit with the conglomerate’s board of directors and not be on stage taking questions. The annual shareholder meeting attracts some 40,000 people to Omaha in what’s been dubbed “Woodstock for Capitalists.”
