We endorse Donald Trump for president

On both sides, the mudslinging is ratcheting up the past few weeks. The accusations, exaggerations and falsehoods will continue to grow as Americans close in on Election Day Nov. 5. It’s the price we pay to keep our democratic form of governing.
Sifting through all the clutter, we believe Donald J. Trump would be the best choice to lead our country over the next four years. It’s not because of the name-calling and the New York-style blunt criticisms he unleashes against the Biden-Harris policies. We believe he has the best proposals to move the nation forward, while he seeks to protect us from evil forces that want to bring down America.
Here are some examples:
On the economy: Exorbitant federal spending has caused inflation of up to 10 percent and left moderate and middle-income families to suffer the most. A new wave of federal regulations on businesses has made it difficult to compete in the world market and cost thousands of jobs. Other countries, especially China, are dumping their products on our country to prop up their economies. As the domestic factories close, you will see those cheap imports rise.
On immigration: Trump says he will close the Southern border and stop the millions of immigrants who have flooded our nation. He’ll stop the federal benefits for undocumented immigrants. He’ll end the catch-and-release practice allowing immigrants to move to other parts of the country and never return for their court hearings. He would make them migrate to this country through the legal system like our forefathers.
On crime: The spread of crime, especially in our large cities, has made them dangerous. He is urging renewal of the stop-and-frisk policy to check gun violence and bring roving gangs under control. He would deploy federal troops to help local officers restore order during lawless protests.
On justice: Trump would appoint hundreds of federal district attorneys who would strictly enforce our laws. And he would get rid of district attorneys with a liberal political agenda or with a reputation for being soft on criminals.
On climate change: Trump would abandon the Paris Climate Accord. The accord gave China the ability to build many new coal-burning power plants while forcing us to shut down ours. He would get rid of the Biden/Harris edict to tighten emissions by targeting 67% of vehicles to be electric by 2032. The wave of electric vehicles would cause plenty of environmental questions, excluding their unpopularity to many Americans. He would scale up oil and gas production to keep us energy-independent.
On foreign policy and defense. Trump would give top priority to rebuilding our military. He would require our European allies to pay back the USA for depleting our military stockpiles and require them to spend 2 percent of their gross national product for their own defense.
On Big Tech: Trump would ban the federal government from working with these conglomerates to censor Americans. He would also propose reforming a federal law called Section 230 to open social media firms to legal liability.
On health care: He would require the federal government to pay pharmaceutical companies only the best price they offer to foreign nations for their products. He promises no cuts to Medicare or Medicaid.
On taxes: Trump would push for no tax on Social Security payments. He also believes there should be no tax on tips or overtime wages. He would like to see somewhat lower taxes on businesses to help them grow and provide more jobs while being more competitive with foreign companies.
Trump has plenty of other ideas on how to accelerate the well-being of working people. We believe it’s time to try his fresh ideas to regain this country’s preeminence.
