Central @ Park Hill
Central has been in a rut since starting the season 3-0. As the competition has stiffened, the Indians have lost their last three games by an average of 31 points per game. They’ll try to bounce back against a 4-2 Park Hill squad.
Benton @ St. Pius X
After a blowout loss to Maryville last Friday, Benton hits the road again to face a juggernaut in St. Pius X. The Warriors are looking like the favorite in Class 5 District 8 with the district tournaments right around the corner.
Lafayette @ Cameron
Lafayette showed some fight last week against Chillicothe, only managing to lose by 6 despite being down double digits early in the first quarter. The Fighting Irish will face another MEC opponent, this time, in a favorable matchup against winless Cameron.
St. Joseph Christian v. King City
The Lions got back on the winning track in a big way last week, winning by 32 against Pattonsburg. St. Joseph Christian returns home on Friday night to face King City, a team that’s won four in a row after starting 0-2.
Riverside @ Troy Troy has won the last two matchups between these two programs, but Riverside is having the better season at the moment. The Cyclones are riding a four-game win streak and can make it five in a row if they’re able to knock off their cross-county rival on the road.
DeKalb @ Tarkio with Fairfax DeKalb looks for just its second win of the season against a 2-4 Tarkio team. Tarkio enters this game off the heels of a blowout victory a week ago against Stewartsville with Osborn.
East Buchanan v. West Platte
This is a matchup that has been one-sided for over a decade. West Platte hasn’t defeated East Buchanan in football since 2010, and at 2-4, it’ll be an uphill battle once again. The Bulldogs have won their last four games.
Mid-Buchanan @ North Platte
Mid-Buchanan is the only undefeated team left in the area. Now, they head south on a short trip to Dearborn to face a North Platte team that has lost its last three games, but managed to push East Buchanan to the brink three weeks ago.
