Best, Travis D. 1985-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Travis Dillon Best, 40, of St. Joseph, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, in a St. Joseph hospital after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 9, 1985, in Kingsville, Texas, son of Debra Turner Best and Alan Best.

He proudly graduated from Benton High School. He was an avid collector of coins, stamps and sports cards. He was also an extreme lover of the KC Chiefs and faithfully attended Chiefs training camp. Fishing, loving music and attending the St. Joseph Stamp Club was also parto f Travis’ favorite pasttimes. In addition, he attended the Immanuel Baptist Church and could be found in the pew singing along.

Survivors include mother, Debra Turner Best (Charles Ussary), Agency, Missouri; father, Alan (Barbara) Best, Lake Ozark, Missouri; sister, Taryn Best (Garrett Grable); brothers, Trevor Pankau, and Bryson Best; and his favorite cousin, Kelley Zwick (Robert).

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Rupp Funeral Home. Friends and family are strongly encouraged to wear Chiefs attire.
