MidCity Excellence brings “Christmas Joy” to the community

MidCity Excellence hosted its “Christmas Joy” showcase, featuring some talented drummers this evening.
The event at Faith Family Worship Center featured guests from the KC Chiefs Rumble, St. Joe Stixx Drumline and MCE’s very own Trashcan Band.
“So many times around the holidays people have the blues. They’re thinking about what they don’t have,” said Kimberly Warren, the CEO of MidCity Excellence. “But today we’re saying, you know, together we have joy, love, hope and peace. And we’re coming together in the spirit of music.”
The event also showed younger kids involved in MCE’s program, that they can take their musical talents and turn them into something more than a hobby.
“That’s what’s so great because we have our amateur drummers who you see professional drummers are like from us here to them there to see, ‘Hey, wow, that’s where I can be.’ It inspires them to say, ‘Let me stay in our music program’,” said Rev. R. Robert Warren, the founder of Faith Family Worship Center.
The program ended with gifts being passed out to MCE kiddos and a cookie reception.
