Tracking a seasonable and dry pattern

Screenshot 2025-08-19 051504

Early this morning, skies are dry in St. Joseph, but if you’re heading toward the Kansas City metro, thunderstorms are moving through that area. Mostly cloudy skies will give way once the sun rises. It’s already muggy, with dew points in the low 70s, and the humidity will linger throughout the day. Partly cloudy skies will stick around, keeping temperatures a little cooler. The heat index will reach the mid-90s, which will feel more manageable than recent days. Tonight, skies will be mostly clear, and lows will drop into the upper 60s.

A cooler air mass is slowly shifting into the region, helping to keep temperatures more seasonable for this time of year. Starting tomorrow, highs are expected in the mid-80s, making for more pleasant conditions. A dry pattern with plenty of sunshine is also expected.
