Tracking scattered morning rain & cool Tuesday temperatures

It’s another wet start across the region, as rain continues to fall throughout the St. Joseph area this morning. The rain is expected to wrap up within the next two to three hours, but we could still see some measurable precipitation before it ends.

Some residents may have been woken up by rumbles of thunder or even flashes of cloud-to-ground lightning early this morning, as the storm system was briefly more active.

After the lunchtime hour, we expect conditions to begin drying out. Sunshine will gradually return and stick around through the remainder of the week and into the weekend.

Temperatures this morning are holding steady in the low to mid-50s, so it’s feeling cooler out there. Be sure to grab a sweatshirt or rain jacket if you're heading out. We’ll warm up slightly by this afternoon, reaching a high of just 67 degrees—definitely a fall-like feel.

Tomorrow morning will be even cooler, with lows dipping into the low to mid-40s. Again, a jacket or sweatshirt will come in handy. However, these chilly fall temperatures won’t last long.

We’ll begin a warming trend midweek, with highs in the mid-70s by Thursday and reaching the 80s by Friday. Temperatures will climb into the mid-80s by Sunday.

There is some relief on the way, though: highs are expected to return to the 70s by Monday, along with another chance for rain.
