Tracking a hot weekend before seasonable temperatures return
We’ve finally made it to the end of the work week, and it’s going to be another warm one across the region. Temperatures today will climb well above average, reaching the upper 80s and even low 90s in some spots. It’ll be hot and toasty outside, so be sure to stay hydrated and wear light, breathable clothing.
There’s a lot of fun to be had around the St. Joseph area this evening and into the weekend. If you’re heading out to PumpkinFest or catching a high school football game, keep in mind it’s going to stay warm. Evening temperatures will hold in the upper 80s before gradually falling into the low 80s after sunset — still feeling pretty warm with not much relief.
Saturday will bring breezy conditions, with winds gusting up to 30 mph. That wind might offer some relief from the heat, but make sure to secure any loose items like trash cans. Highs tomorrow will be a bit cooler than today, topping out around 87 degrees, and we’ll remain dry through the day.
Looking ahead to Sunday, a cold front is expected to move through in the late evening, bringing our first real taste of fall. Along with some much-needed rain, temperatures will start to drop.
By Monday, highs will fall into the mid-70s, and by midweek, we’ll really feel that autumn air with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s — finally making it feel like October.
