Tracking cool temperatures and rain chances

Sunday has brought a noticeable drop in temperatures across the St. Joseph region, with afternoon highs running about 10 degrees below average for this time of year. This colder than normal pattern is expected to stick around through much of the upcoming workweek.

Overnight lows will dip into the lower 50s, bringing a fall-like feel to the area. Monday is expected to remain cloudy and cool with a high near 73 degrees, which is about 13 degrees below average. Be sure to grab a jacket if you're heading out early as morning temperatures will start off chilly in the low 50s.

Tuesday will bring a slight warm-up, with highs returning to the mid-70s, similar to what we saw on Sunday. Scattered showers are possible in the afternoon, although not everyone will see rain. The best chance for rainfall comes Wednesday, which will also bring the warmest temperatures of the week. Highs are forecast to approach 80 degrees, with a 30% chance of rain throughout the day.

A cold front moving through Wednesday night will usher in another cooldown for Thursday, before temperatures begin to climb again heading into the holiday weekend. By Labor Day weekend, highs are expected to inch back toward the 80-degree mark, with drier and more pleasant weather conditions returning.
