Tracking more rain and rising temps

After a soggy start to our Sunday, we've finally dried out and the sun is shining. A few clouds are still lingering over the area, but otherwise, it's shaping up to be a beautiful and mild Sunday evening.

So far, the St. Joseph region has seen just over one-tenth of an inch of rain, with some neighboring areas reporting locally higher amounts. A flood watch remains in effect for our neighbors to the south in Platte County. However, northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas counties are currently excluded.

That said, northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas remain under a slight risk for excessive rainfall. Fortunately, the threat is trending downward, with the heaviest rainfall now expected to stay south of the Kansas City metro.

Overnight tonight, a line of storms will track south of the area, closer to Kansas City. However, increased moisture from nearby systems could bring a higher chance of precipitation to the St. Joseph region through early Monday morning.

Monday morning, particularly during the morning commute, appears to be the prime window for rain. As the system moves eastward, showers will become more disorganized and scattered. Rainfall looks to be more concentrated in the morning hours, though we can’t rule out additional chances in the afternoon.

Temperatures tomorrow will be on the cooler side, with highs only reaching the upper 70s to low 80s—very similar to today.

Rain chances look to remain low through Wednesday. Each day this week, we'll slowly climb in temperature, starting in the upper 70s and finishing the weekend in the 90s—with plenty of sunshine.
