Tracking mild and dry conditions through the weekend

After a very hot start to the week, we're finally getting a much-needed break from the heat. Throughout the day today, we've been blanketed with a decent amount of cloud cover. This, combined with northeasterly winds, has kept our temperatures well below average.

Hazy conditions are beginning to appear on the horizon, as the northeasterly winds are carrying in some wildfire smoke from Canada. These conditions are expected to worsen overnight and into early tomorrow morning.

Our average high for this time of year is around 88°F, but today we’ve been about 10 degrees below that—and this trend is expected to continue through the weekend.

Friday’s temperatures will be similar to today, with highs in the mid-70s and a good mix of sun and clouds. The chance of seeing sunshine tomorrow is higher than what we experienced today.

Sunday will also be similar in temperature, but rain chances will increase overnight into early Monday. Cloud cover is also expected to limit our sunshine on Sunday.

Looking ahead to the work week, scattered rain chances will remain throughout most of the week, with continued below-average temperatures.
