Tracking dry, comfortable weather before rain returns for the 4th

The first day of July is here — and so is the sunshine. After a gloomy stretch, the sun has been shining brightly today and will continue to do so over the next few days.

Tonight, temperatures will cool into the mid-60s under mostly clear skies. By morning, any lingering cloud cover will clear out, setting the stage for another beautiful day. Highs will climb into the 90s Tuesday afternoon, and humidity is expected to stay low, making for comfortable conditions.

Similar weather is expected Thursday, with sunny skies and highs in the low 90s once again.

Rain chances increase just in time for Independence Day. There’s a 30% chance of showers beginning Friday and continuing into early next week. Friday’s rain is most likely to arrive late at night into early Saturday morning.

Saturday looks to be the wettest of the four-day stretch, as several rounds of showers could lead to a soggy day. Be sure to keep an umbrella nearby if you have outdoor weekend plans.

The rain will also impact temperatures. Highs will still reach the low 90s on Friday and Saturday but are expected to cool slightly into the 80s by Sunday and Monday.
