Missouri Online Sports Betting: What to Know with Launch Just Weeks Away

Missouri is set to launch sports betting in less than a month, but several key dates remain prior to the Show-Me State becoming the latest to welcome regulated sports betting into its fold.

Nine licensed online sports betting operators will be able to launch sports betting on Monday, Dec. 1, at midnight after recently receiving temporary sports betting licenses from the Missouri Gaming Commission.

These nine operators will receive their final sports betting rules and regulations within the month, while also opening up registration and account funding for customers as well.

What Sportsbooks Will Be Available in Missouri?

Nine sports betting operators will be initially offering online sports betting when the state launches on Dec. 1.

The Missouri Gaming Commission awarded the state's first nine temporary sports betting licenses to the following operators:

  • DraftKings
  • Circa Sports
  • FanDuel
  • Underdog
  • Fanatics Sportsbook
  • Caesars Sportsbook
  • ESPN BET
  • Bet365
  • BetMGM

DraftKings and Circa Sports were awarded untethered licenses by the MGC in August, while the other seven operators were awarded tethered licenses. The tethered license holders are required to partner with either a professional sports franchise or state casino for Missouri sports betting market access.

Each license holder will be able to offer online sports betting throughout the state, despite recent misinformation to the contrary.

In a recently published article in The Kansas City Star, Missouri Gaming Commission Chair Jan Zimmerman incorrectly reported that only untethered license holders would be able to offer online sports betting throughout the state. The tethered license holders, she said, would only be able to offer online sports betting within a two-block radius of the property they are partnered with.

The article has since been corrected. Every single license holder will be eligible to offer online sports betting throughout the state, no matter if they are tethered or untethered licenses.

Major Steps Remaining Before Launch

While bets will not be accepted prior to Dec. 1, sports betting companies will open account registration for customers in less than two weeks.

The licensed sports betting operators will open account registration and funding for users on Monday, Nov. 17, at midnight, provided the accounts are established in compliance with the proposed regulations. Customers will be able to create accounts on this date and fund them accordingly.

The Missouri Gaming Commission will also institute its final sports betting rules on Nov. 30, 2025, a day before its sports betting launch. Any modifications to the house rules or internal controls prior to this date will be forwarded to the operators.
