Sports Commission to host 2025 D2 CCA Tip-Off Classic

ST. JOSEPH, Mo (News-Press NOW) -- The St. Joseph Sports Commission (SJSC) is hosting the D2 Conference Commissioner's Association (CCA) men's and women's basketball tip-off at Civic Arena.

Nine men's and women's basketball teams will compete in the tournament to kick off the Division 2 college basketball season with a weekend-long tournament starting on Friday, Oct. 31, and running until Sunday, Nov. 2.

The nine teams competing include:

Missouri Western State Griffons (Men's and Women's)

Northwest Missouri State Bearcats (Men's and Women's)

Pittsburg State Gorillas (Men's)

Grand Valley State Lakers (Women's)

Minnesota State Mavericks (Men's)

Adams State Grizzlies (Women's)

Lubbock Christian Chaparrals (Women's)

West Texas A&M Buffaloes (Men's and Women's)

Missouri-St. Louis Tritons (Men's)

Four games are played on each of the three days the event is held, with two women's and two men's games being played on each day.

Each of the nine teams will play two games throughout the weekend.

Friday, Oct. 31

1:00 p.m. - Northwest Missouri State vs. Adams State (W)

3:00 p.m. - Missouri Western vs. Grand Valley State (W)

5:00 p.m. - Minnesota State v. Northwest Missouri State (M)

7:00 p.m. - Missouri Western vs. West Texas A&M (M)

Saturday, Nov. 1

1:00 p.m. - Grand Valley State vs. West Texas A&M (W)

3:00 p.m. - Lubbock Christian vs. Adams State (W)

5:00 p.m. - Pittsburg State vs. West Texas A&M (M)

7:00 p.m. - Northwest Missouri State vs. Missouri-St. Louis (M)

Sunday, Nov. 2

12:00 p.m. - Northwest Missouri State vs. West Texas A&M (W)

2:00 p.m. - Missouri Western vs. Lubbock Christian (W)

4:00 p.m. - Pittsburg State vs. Minnesota State (M)

6:00 p.m. - Missouri Western vs. Missouri-St. Louis (M)
