ST. JOSEPH, Mo (News-Press NOW) -- Week nine of the high school football season is here! While it marks the end of the regular season, playoffs are set to begin Friday, Oct. 31.

There are some big games with playoff implications on the line Friday night. Every game will be played at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, unless stated otherwise.

Sports Zone's game of the week is the "Battle of the Buchs" as the Mid-Buchanan Dragons (8-0) host the East Buchanan Bulldogs (4-4)

The second big rivalry game is the "Battle of the Plattes" as the North Platte Panthers (5-3) host the West Platte Blue Jays (5-3) to decide who claims the first overall seed in Class One District Eight.

St. Joseph Christian Lions (3-5) vs Princeton Tigers (0-8)

Savannah Savages (8-0) at St. Pius X Warriors (4-4)

DeKalb Tigers (0-8) vs Tarkio Indians (4-4)
