One dead, three injured in multi-vehicle crash Saturday

ATCHISON COUNTY, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- A three-vehicle crash resulted in one fatality and left three others with moderate to serious injuries Saturday on Interstate 29, five miles north of Rock Port, Missouri.
The crash occurred around 11:15 p.m. as a 2006 Kia Sedona, driven by a 75-year-old Kansas City, Kansas, woman, was traveling south in the northbound passing lane of I-29. A 30-year-old Denison, Iowa, woman in a 2019 Infiniti QX80 and a 28-year-old Ward, South Carolina, woman in a 2012 Kia Sorento were northbound on the interstate.
The front of the Kia Sedona hit the front of the Infiniti and then traveled off the roadway into the median, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
The collision sent the rear end of the Infiniti partially airborne and the Kia Sorento struck the undercarriage of the vehicle before skidding off the road.
The 75-year-old woman was pronounced dead by the Atchison County coroner. The 30-year-old driver of the Infiniti sustained moderate injuries, while two other occupants in that vehicle, a Carrol, Iowa, man and a 5-year-old Denison girl, were seriously injured.
The three people injured in the crash were transported to Grape Memorial Hospital of Hamburg, Iowa, according to the crash report.
