Maryville man seriously injured in one-vehicle crash

A 37-year-old man was hospitalized after suffering serious injuries in a Nodaway County crash on Thursday evening.

Cody Scopel, of Maryville, Missouri, was traveling west on Missouri 46 in a Dodge Dakota when his vehicle traveled off the roadway, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports. His vehicle traveled off the roadway, overturned and came to rest on its side in a corn field.

Scopel was taken by ambulance to Mosaic Maryville. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to crash reports.
