Gasper, Rodney G. 1972-2026 Cowgill, Mo.

COWGILL, Mo. – Rodney Gene Gasper, 53, of Cowgill, Missouri, passed away Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, at a Hamilton, Missouri, health care facility. He was born Aug. 11, 1972, in St Joseph, son of Mary and Robert Gasper.

Rodney was a 1990 graduate of Mid-Buchanan High School. He worked as an Installer with both Time Warner Cable and AT&T.

Rodney enjoyed fishing, spending time with his dogs and was proud of his Hot Wheel collection.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Robbie Gasper.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Cheryl Wilson, of the home; brother, Harry (Sandy) Gasper, of Hamilton, Missouri; stepchildren, Brittani (Chandler) Bartlett, Alayna Wilson and Jeffery Wilson, all of Hamilton; grandchildren, Talon and Jackson Bartlett; and nieces and nephews, Rebecca (David) Doss, Adam (Maci) Gasper, Misty (Jeremy) Hoy; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mr. Gasper has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. Family will receive friends 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, with services to follow at Hamilton Baptist Church, 301 W. Berry St. Memorials are requested to the Friends of the Animal Shelter in St. Joseph.
