Patterson, Herbert F. 1936-2026 St. Joseph, Mo.

Herbert “Doc” Franklin Patterson, 89, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026, in a St Joseph health care center. He was born Nov. 28, 1936, in Unionville, Missouri, son of the late Nellie and AB Patterson.

He graduated from Unionville High School, and he worked at Prose Inc. in Bonner Springs as a warehouse manager. He married Patricia “Pat” Wood, in Leavenworth, Kansas, and she survives of the home.

“Doc” was preceded in death by his parents; stepchildren: Debbie Howdeshell, Michael Patterson, and Shelly Patterson, Fred and Walt Robidoux; brothers, Albert “June” Junior Patterson, and George Patterson; two sisters, Evelyn Lloyd and Eloise Hartman; and his first wife, Sherrie Patterson.

Survivors include: wife, Patricia “Pat” Patterson, of the home; and two sisters, Alice Denver and Lois Glotzbach.

Mr. Patterson will be cremated under the care of the Rupp Funeral Home.
