Townsend, Jackie C. 1959-2026 St. Joseph, Mo.

Jackie “Jack” C. Townsend, 66, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at his home. He was born July 9, 1959, in St. Joseph, son of the late Mary and Virgil Townsend.

He attended Savannah, Missouri, High School and Penn State University. Jack married Jennifer Erickson on June 21, 2014. He worked at Mead Products, Artisian Ice, and Albaugh industries. He enjoyed shooting pool, riding his motorcycle, mushroom hunting and watching the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Michael Townsend Sr.; and a nephew, Michael Townsend Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Townsend, of the home; daughter, Natasha Bennett, of Kansas City, Missouri; step-children: Michael Erickson, and Jaycee Erickson; and four grandchildren; siblings: Floyd Townsend, Pat (Sue) Townsend, Ramona Cates, and half sisters Phyllis and Judy.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Friday with a celebration of life starting at 3 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, at the Rupp Funeral Home. There will be a funeral dinner following the services at the V.F.W Post 6760 on Cherokee St.
