Moyer, Stephen A. 1952-2026 Country Club, Mo.

COUNTRY CLUB, Mo. – Stephen Allen “Big Moe” Moyer, 73, of Country Club, Missouri, passed away on Jan. 12, 2026. Stephen was born on Oct. 12, 1952, to Maurice and Louise (Willmore) Moyer, in St. Joseph.
Stephen graduated from Lafayette High School and attended Missouri Western studying business. Stephen went on to work in local manufacturing businesses, ending with Wire Rope, where retired after many years of working as a machinist and in maintenance for the company.
Stephen was known for being a hardworking, self-motivated go-getter, and resourceful individual. This carried into his life away from work. Where he enjoyed farming, hunting, traveling, riding a Harley-Davidson, and collecting guns. Stephen was longtime member of the NRA and the St. Joe Gun Club. He could also be found being dressed as Santa Claus for children over the Christmas holiday events.
Preceding Stephen in death were his parents, Maurice and Louise Moyer, and brothers Michael J. Moyer and Dennis J. Moyer.
Survivors include his brother, Thomas Moyer (Patty Root); stepson, Jeff (Deann) Woodbury; and numerous friends that Stephen had made through the years.
Services for Stephen will be held on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith-Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph. Starting with a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by the Memorial Service, officiated by Celebrant Dave Mejia. Private family inurnment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, in St. Joseph.
Memorial contributions can be directed to either the Wounded Warrior Project or the Arbor Day Foundation. These two organizations meant a great deal of importance to Stephen. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
