Colleen Louise Jeffers, 97, St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026. She was born Dec. 3, 1928, to Naomi Cecil Crouch, in Marshall, Missouri.

She lived a full and vibrant life, marked by creativity, laughter, and a deep love for family and friends.

Colleen was a longtime member of the Sparta Homemakers Club in Buchanan County, Missouri. She was an avid painter and enjoyed fishing, but one of her greatest passions was traveling. Colleen was fortunate to travel extensively throughout her life, including memorable trips to Europe and Australia. She embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity, and her adventurous spirit was something to be celebrated.

Colleen loved social gatherings and could often be found playing cards and games with friends. She especially cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Known for her great sense of humor, she brought joy and laughter wherever she went.

Colleen wintered for 20 years in Mesa, Arizona, with her beloved husband, Wilbur Jeffers. Their marriage of 65 years was a testament to enduring love and partnership.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Jeffers; her mother, Naomi Cecil Crouch-Bartholomew; her stepfather, Dalbert Cecil Bartholomew; and her son-in-law, Rick Cox.

Survivors include her children, Greg Jeffers (Sue) and Sandra Jeffers-Cox (Richard); grandchildren, Ashley Miller, April Jeffers, Aaron Bartram (Walter), Eric Cox (Justina), Khristopher Cox (Jesskha), and Kenneth Cox (Jennifer); 14 great-grandchildren; two great-nieces; and one great- great-nephew; niece, Pat Crouch; nephew, Neil Crouch and numerous friends.

Colleen will be remembered as a wonderful person, full of life, love, and laughter. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.

Graveside Services 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association.
