Blanchard, Danny B. 1949-2026 St. Joseph, Mo.

Danny B. Blanchard, 76, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026. He was born Nov. 5, 1949, in St. Joseph, son of the late Doris and Charles “Bud” Blanchard.

Danny graduated from Benton High School, class of 1969. He shared 55 wonderful years with his wife, Vicki Bravo.

Danny worked for many years with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and also at his brother-in-law’s bait shop, “Bob’s Bait.” Family was the center of Danny’s life. He loved spending time with his sons, attending their sporting events as they grew up, and later cheering on his grandchildren at everything from traveling sports to dance competitions.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Kenny Blanchard and Carol Parkhurst; and brother-in-law, Bob Ziolkowski.

He is survived by his wife, Vicki Blanchard; three sons: Danny (Erin) Blanchard, Jeremy (Darcee) Blanchard, and John (Bobbi Jo) Blanchard; sister, Janice Ziolkowski; grandchildren, Rah-Vin, Colton, Drake, Hannah and Krimzyn Blanchard, Elizabeth Gilbert, Kazdyn Pierce-Blanchard, Daniel and Derek Musser; and three great-grandchildren, Princeton, Wylder, and Lincoln.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Children’s Mercy Hospital.
