Widner, Betty M. 1944-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Betty Mae (Ward) Widner, 81, of St. Joseph, passed away Dec. 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born Jan. 17, 1944, in Otterville, Missouri, to Elmer Archibald and Goldie Ivery (Davis) Ward.

She attended school in Otterville, and was a member of the Otterville Baptist Church. She retired after 25 years from Stetson Hat Company.

She married Mark William Widner on June 30, 1962, in Otterville, and he survives, of their home. Also surviving are children Mark Jeffrey Widner, Robin Lynn Widner; granddaughters, Dara Ann Beenken, Codi Dawn Nordbye; and three great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Andi Mae, and Zeal.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and son, Roderic Widner.

She enjoyed country dances with her husband and riding horses, training dogs, especially Dobermans and she loved all animals.

Betty has been cremated and a celebration of life will be later. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
