Brendle Jr., Robert N. 1954-2026 St. Joseph, Mo.

Robert “Bobby” Norman Brendle Jr., 71, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, in St. Joseph. He was born July 22, 1954, in St. Joseph, son of Betty (Barnes) Johnson and Robert Brendle Sr.

He attended Gower High School and graduated from Benton High School, class of 1972. He married Marsha Whithorn on May 12, 1979.

Robert was a hard worker, he worked for many years with his father and brothers at Brendle Construction. He also worked for many years at Big Smith, H.D. Lee, Uniland and Lakeland Industries as a Cutter and Supervisor and his latest job as a driver for Clayton Paper. He was a member of the King Hill Masonic Lodge #376 A.F. & A.M. and Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Shirley Brendle and Betty and Virgil Johnson; brothers, Jeff Brendle and David Johnson.

Survivors include wife, Marsha Brendle, of the home; children, Lisa (Edward) Row, of St. Joseph, Bobbie Jo (Andy) Walker, of St. Joseph, Bo (Faith) Brendle, of Hermitage, Tennessee, and Amy (Jay) Baber, of St. Joseph; brothers, Joe (Sheri) Brendle, of Gower, Missouri, Jimmy Brendle, of St. Joseph, Jerry Brendle, of Forest City, Missouri, and John (Wendy) Brendle, of Gower, Missouri; sisters, Toni Brendle, of St. Joseph, and Sharon Johnson, of Savannah, Missouri; sister-in-law, Barbara Brendle, of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Kendall, Shea (Darrell) Hughes, Steven Baber, Jack Walker, and Wynder Brendle; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Brendle has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at the No. 6 Cemetery, Frazier, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
