Machetta, Amelia J. 1939-2025 Cameron, Mo.

CAMERON, Mo. – Amelia Jean Machetta, 86, of Cameron, Missouri, passed away Dec. 14, 2025, at her home. She was born Aug. 13, 1939, to Guy Albert and Amelia Marian (Pitman) Ricket, in Wichita, Kansas.

Jean was a graduate of Wheeling High School and a 1986 graduate of Missouri Western State University with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She worked for several hospitals including Cameron Regional and Liberty Hospital.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dan; and four brothers.

She is survived by daughter, Annette (Jim) Wilson, Cameron; grandson, Adam Wilson; granddaughter, Abigail Wilson; sister, Helen (Michael) Sheehan, Independence, Missouri; brother, Delano Ricket, Cameron; niece and goddaughter, Lynise Sheehan; and nephew, Patrick Sheehan, Kansas City, Missouri.

Visitation, 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, at St. Munchin Catholic Church. Memorial Mass, 10 a.m. following the visitation. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
