ELLISVILLE, Mo. – Marilyn Louise (Hydorn) Phillips, 78, of Ellisville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, at a care facility in Wildwood, Missouri. She was born in Cainsville, Missouri, on May 10, 1947, daughter of Forrest and Jaunita (Snow) Hydorn.
After graduating from Cainsville High School, Marilyn married her childhood sweetheart, Larry Dale Phillips, on July 4, 1965 and moved to St. Joseph to start a family. While there, Marilyn worked as a hostess at the Fredrick Inn Steakhouse for several years where she enjoyed joking with the regulars. Marilyn liked taking the “Rolly House” to visit her grandkids where she taught them the intricacies of “Grandma’s Rummy” and used her sewing skills to spoil them with custom Halloween costumes. The grandkids loved laughing with their Mam-ma and Pam-pa, who were married for 56 years before Larry’s passing in 2022.
