Robert “Bob” C. Sanger passed away peacefully at his home on Dec. 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of his wife and four children. Bob grew up in St. Joseph, and was a proud graduate of Christian Brothers High School, Class of 1958. Following high school, he served in the Army Reserves. He later earned his accounting degree from California State University, Fullerton, beginning a lifelong career devoted to his profession.With dedication and an entrepreneurial spirit, Bob went on to start his own accounting business, which he faithfully operated for nearly 50 years. He truly enjoyed his accounting practice and the many clients and friendships that came with it. Bob was also an active member of the Lions Club, where he continued his lifelong commitment to serving others.

Bob and his wife, Debbie, were devoted members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and his faith was an important and steady presence throughout his life. In his younger years, Bob enjoyed playing softball, and throughout his life he loved riding his bike, playing cards, and spending time with his loyal dog, Leo. He coached his children in basketball, soccer, softball, and baseball, always supporting them in their activities. Above all, Bob deeply loved his children, grandchildren, and his wife, and cherished the time they shared together. He especially enjoyed traveling with his wife, Debbie.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Sanger; his children, Weston Sanger, Emily Sanger, Clayton Sanger, and Juston Sanger (Jenna); his grandchildren, Eveah Sanger-Arredondo, Ezra Sanger, Judah Sanger, and Micah Sanger; his siblings, Andy Sanger (Lucy), Jake Sanger, Jim Sanger (Jackie), Trudy Lohman (Larry), and Joan Lowe (Mike); along with extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Theresa Wood (Herman) and Dorothy Madden (John); and his brother, Martin Sanger.

Mass of Christian Burial and Public Livestream 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. Parish Rosary 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10. Meierhoffer FuneralHome & Crematory. The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
