Rosemary Barton 1933-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Rosemary Barton, 92, St. Joseph, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Rosemary was born on March 18, 1933, in Faucett, Missouri, to the late Woodrow and Edith (Rose) Robinson. She was a 1951 graduate of Faucett High School.

Rosemary married James "Jimmy" Barton , of Agency, Missouri, on Nov. 20, 1954, and celebrated 39 years of marriage until his passing on Aug. 23, 1994. Together they raised their two sons, and Rosemary was instrumental in helping Jimmy operate their family owned business, B & D Equipment, in Atchison,
Kansas. Rosemary also worked as a secretary for St. Paul Lutheran Church for 25 years, until her retirement.

Rosemary was baptized at Halleck Presbyterian Church and later attended Frazier Baptist Church. As a young girl, Rosemary enjoyed playing softball and fishing, and in her later years enjoyed trips to the casino. She was an avid Royals and Chiefs fan, and loved the company of her beloved cats.

In addition to her parents and husband, Rosemary was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Robinson, and sister, Linda Wheeler.

Rosemary is survived by her loving family, two sons, Scott Barton ( Michelle) and Mike Barton (Linda); three grandchildren, Zach, Samantha and Christopher (Bridgett); two great-grandchildren, Ben and Bintley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior from noon to 1 p.m. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to the Halleck Cemetery, Noyes Home, St. Joseph Animal Shelter or Three Rivers Hospice.
