Alder, Carol R. 1931-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Carol Rose Alder, 94, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at a Savannah, Missouri, care facility. She was born Nov. 9, 1931, in St. Joseph, daughter of Floy and Clarence Risler.
She graduated from Lafayette High School. She was a housekeeping manager working for Drury Inn for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and music. She was a talented pianist and also played clarinet in high school. Carol was an avid KC Royals and KC Chiefs fan and she also enjoyed watching soap operas. She devoted much of her life to taking care of others and especially enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Carol was a member The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she was in the Women’s Relief Society and the Primary and Young Women’s group.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Alder in 1988; sons, Jim Alder and Steve Alder; daughter, Machelle Boudreau; and sisters, Phyllis Weir and Faith Moser.
Survivors include sons, Dennis (Pamm) Alder, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Terry (Elizabeth) Alder, of St. Joseph; daughter-in-law, Susan Alder, of Roy, Utah; son-in-law, Mike Bourdreau, of St. Joseph; 15 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
A great appreciation for her caretakers who meant so much to her were, Sharon Kunels, Elizabeth Negron, Debbie King, Joyce Belcher and Tish Kerns.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Rupp Funeral Home. Interment to follow services at Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, Missouri. Memorials are requested to the LaVerna Manor Memorial Fund.
