Jesus Christ fulfilled His promise to Betty Kingsley on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, when He welcomed her into her eternal home.

She was born Oct. 29, 1930, in New Boston, Ohio, beloved daughter of the late Bertha and Warnie Blanton. After accepting Jesus Christ’s love and grace in 1980, Betty became an “everyday evangelist” sharing her faith wherever she was, and practicing Jesus’s call from Matthew 25:36:

I was naked, and you clothed me,

I was sick and you visited me,

I was in prison and you came to me.

She belonged to the Family Worship Center, Women’s Aglow, and a women’s prayer group hosted in her home for many years. Betty served her community as the President of the St. Joseph Dental Auxiliary and the Eugene Field PTA. She had lots of fun hamming it up playing the kazoo and washtub in the Moila Moppettes, a kitchen band, where, as lead singer she played the role of Minnie Pearl.

Her life was sharply characterized by her unwavering devotion to her faith and family.

Betty was preceded in death by husband, Dr. Kirby Kingsley; her parents; son-in-law, Larry Dawson; five sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include four daughters, Pamela Kingsley, of Kansas City, Missouri, Paulette Dawson, of Platte City, Missouri, Teri Jensen, of St. Joseph, and Kathleen (Tim) Robertson, of Platte City; and two sons, Kirby Douglas (Linda) Kingsley, of Arlington, Virginia, and David (Constance) Kingsley, of Leawood, Kansas; grandchildren include: Allie and Ellen Clemens, Andrea (Jon) Miller, Nick (Patti) Dawson, Sarah (Joel) Travis, Josh (Ashley) Jensen, Sophia Kingsley, Madelyn and Kirbi Kingsley; great-grandchildren include, Mary and Grace Miller, Leah and Hailey Jensen, Evelyn and Henry Travis.

On Sunday, Nov. 23, the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Family Worship Center, 12293 County Road 438, Country Club, MO 64505. Funeral services and public live stream will begin at the center at 2 p.m. Interment will be at the Sarcoxie Cemetery, in Sarcoxie, Missouri, on Monday, Nov. 24. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the St. Joseph Pregnancy Resource Center, 1502 N 36th St, St Joseph, MO 64506
