Elizabeth “Beth” Ann Cota Kosse, aged 61, of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025. She was born on May 8, 1964, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the beloved daughter of the late Elizabeth “Betty” and Richard “Dick” Cota.

Beth was a proud graduate of O’Gorman Catholic High School and St. Cloud State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science and then pursued her Master’s degree in Counseling at South Dakota State University. On March 11, 1989, Beth married Karl Kosse, who survives her. She dedicated her career to education, serving as a school counselor and substitute teacher, and also was the office manager at Kosse Pediatrics.

Beth was known for her love of golf, her skills as a softball player, her enjoyment of long walks, and her talent in the kitchen. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard “Dick” (Denise) Cota Jr., and Dale (Joan) Cota; and her sister- in-law, Terri (Steve) Cota.

Survivors include husband, Dr. Karl Kosse; son, Nikolas (Anthony Houchin) Kosse, of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Rachel (Nickson Agesa Adamson) Kosse, of Los Angeles, California; and son, John (Jennifer Dorris Kosse) Dorris Kosse, of Kansas City, Missouri; mother-in-law, Betsy Kosse, of Aberdeen, South Dakota; five brothers, Dave (Judy) Cota, of McKinney, Texas, Dan (Ronda) Cota, of Dacula, Georgia, Steve (Terri) Cota, of Sioux Falls, Mike (Deb) Cota, of Sioux Falls, John (Lynn) Cota, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and sisters-in-law, Denise (Dick) Cota and Joan (Dale) Cota; as well as many dear nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church followed by the rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m. The family will also receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, 507 Main St. Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 a.m. Saturday Nov. 22, 2025, at the Christ the King Catholic Church, Sioux Falls, the inurnment will be at the St. Michaels Cemetery, Sioux Falls.
