Proffit, Donald 1950-2025 Savannah, Mo.

SAVANNAH, Mo. – Donald “Don” Proffit, 75, of Savannah, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at Living Community. Don was born on March 23, 1950, in Fillmore, Missouri, to Orville Proffit and Imo Todd Proffit.
He graduated from Fillmore C-1 High School. Don proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam conflict from Dec. 23, 1969, to Feb. 23, 1971, and he received an Honorable discharge. His occupation was a brick mason and he owned his own business Don Proffit Masonry.
Don was married to Roxanne Proffit and from this union they had two children Tara and Ryan.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bob Proffit and Skeeter Proffit; and a sister, Betty Natzinger; nephews, Todd and Jamie Proffit; and his beloved chihuahua pretty girl Piper.
Surviving his daughter, Tara Horn (Jason); son, Ryan Proffit (Jessica); grandchildren, Olivia Horn, Hayden Horn, Jolie Proffit, Clara Proffit, and Ethan Proffit; his twin sister, Donna Durham (Donnie) and two sisters, Barb Newberg, Linda Catron (Rick); a brother, Herbie Proffit; and numerous step grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel, 307 South 6th Street, Savannah, MO 64485. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at our chapel. Interment to follow at the Fillmore Cemetery, Savannah, Missouri with full military honors by the Dick Munkres American Legion Post 287.
