Steven Douglas Frogge, 67, of St. Joseph, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025, at Advanced Care of St. Joseph. He was born in Missouri, the second child of four. He was a highly intelligent world traveler.
Steven was a Christian missionary in Japan and lived in places like New York and Los Angeles with his former wife, Keiko Tanaka, 68, of Tokyo Japan.
He is survived by their son, Daniel Manato Frogge, 38, of San Diego, California. He will also be missed by his older brother, William Frogge, and his younger sister, Dorothy Kelly and her family, who were present at his passing.
Steven was a professor of language and spoke fluent Japanese. He loved to play the piano, a very talented musician in his free time. Steven loved to read, watch his favorite tv shows, and spend time talking with Daniel and go out to see live music. He was a devoted, father and cherished friend, Steve will be loved and missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Hugger officiating.
