Monserrat “Chico” Erivez peacefully passed away on Oct. 18, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.

He was born in Barcelona, Spain, grew up in Chihuahua, Mexico. His life was a shining example of transformative power of resilience and determination. After coming to the United States, He forged his own path pursuing education and building a successful concrete business that created him a reputation for unwavering dedication and his hard work. His legacy and stories will continue in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Chico’s presence will forever continue in the hearts of many as a friend, teacher and mentor.

Proceeded in death by mother, Ramona Erives Barragan, and father, Heriberto Tena

Survived by his wife, Kathy Erivez, of the home; Only sibling, Lola Erivez (Chuma) and their families; daughters: Corrinna Torres (Mike), Claudia Garcia Cordova (Ivan), Ramona Anglin and Shalia Stamper(Jeremy); sepsons: Nicholas Buhman(Samantha) Nathan Buhman; honorary son: Hipolito (polo) Borunda; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

As we celebrate Chico’s life, we honor his memory and countless lives he empowered. His family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support and asks for time to grieve and reflect on the incredible life he lived. In accordance with his final wishes, there will be no services. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
