Anderson, Shannon K. W. 1973-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Shannon Kirk William Anderson, 52, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025, at his home in St. Joseph. He was born March 21, 1973, in Winchester, Kansas, son of Nina Anderson. He graduated from Leavenworth High School. On Jan. 22, 2000, he married Carmen Stewart, in St. Joseph.

Shannon previously worked at Green Hills- South as the Produce Manager. One of his greatest memories was traveling to England. He enjoyed cooking, cleaning, collecting Star Wars memorabilia, watching his favorite football team, KC Chiefs, and movies.

Shannon was preceded in death by great-aunt, Linda Wonka.

Survivors include wife, Carmen Anderson, of the home; his mother, Nina Spillman, of Eudora, Kansas; children, Martel Stewart (Alyssa Bright), Nathan Jones (Ace’s mother), Anthony Anderson, Aliyah Anderson (Kenny), of St. Joseph; brothers, Anthony (Jessa) Burkitt and Robert Burkitt, of Eudora; grandchildren, Soraya, Emberlyn, Ace, Kowen and grandson due in January.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, 2025, at the Rupp Funeral Home. Mr. Anderson will be cremated following the visitation. Memorials are requested to the Shannon Anderson Memorial Fund, c/o Rupp Funeral Home or online at ruppfuneral.com.
