Beaver Jr., Robert L. 1947-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Robert Lee Beaver Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, after battling a long illness.
Robert, affectionately called “Bob” or “Bobby Lee”, was born Dec. 9, 1947, to Robert Sr. and Gertrude Jahnke Beaver, in St. Joseph. He married Rodnae Karle Truesdale on July 15, 1983. She survives of the home.
Bob was a veteran of both the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Shield. He faithfully served his county for 21 years in both the U.S. Army and Air National Guard. Additionally, he served as a State Correctional Officer.
Bob loved fishing and working on projects for not only himself but for his extended family. He also enjoyed spending time with his four legged kids. Bob had a good sense of humor and loved to “tease” those around him. He had an infectious smile that brought smiles to everyone around him
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Bob Sr. and Gertrude Beaver.
He is survived by his wife, Rodnae, of the home; four sons, Robert Lee Beaver III (Amy), Kansas City, Travis Beaver (Tara), Parker, Colorado, John Truesdale (Cindy), Savannah, Missouri, and Corry Truesdale, St. Joseph; seven grandchildren, Hayley and Rylee Beaver, Samantha and Logan Beaver, Joel (Kelsey) Truesdale, Maggie (Mathew) Lance; and Billie Truesdale; his sisters and brother, Cecelia (Mat) Daniels, Auburn, Nebraska, Madeleine Steele, St. Joseph, Chris (Cyndi) Beaver, St. Joseph, and Denise (George Matt) Mereness, St. Joseph; and several nieces and nephews.
Bob will be remembered for his helpful nature and for “going with the flow” no matter the situation.
Celebration of Life 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, Fairview Golf Course. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Friends of the Animal Shelter of St. Joseph.
