Chilcoat, Lonnie R. 1948-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Lonnie Richard Chilcoat “Rambo”, 77, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2025, in St. Joseph. He was born Aug. 4, 1948, in St. Joseph, son of the late Virginia and Lovell “Chili” Chilcoat.

He graduated from Lafayette High School and was drafted during Vietnam, where he served for two years. He went on to work at Johnson Controls for 30 years. Lonnie enjoyed playing his video games, watching action movies, listening to music, and loved fishing down at Chili Dog Cove.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold Chilcoat, James Chilcoat, and Danny Chilcoat; and sister, Sandy (Jim) Lawrence.

Survivors include sons, Ryan R. (Nicole) Chilcoat, of Platte City, Missouri, and Job Chilcoat, of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Steve (Rose) Chilcoat; sisters, Loretta (Danny) Fisher, Helen Linder, and Laura (Josh) Stines; sisters-in-law, Vicky Chilcoat and Barb Chilcoat; step-siblings, Sandy (Pat) Wolf, Mike (Barb) Young, and Paul (Terry) Young; grandchildren, Draiden, Adler, and Evan.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home. Memorial Service will follow at 2 p.m., Pastor Leanna VanZandt-Nauman officiating.
