Nichols, Nancy K. 1950-2025 Savannah, Mo.

SAVANNAH, Mo. — Nancy Nichols, 75, of Savannah, Missouri, passed away Sept. 23, 2025 at Mosaic Life Care. Nancy was born on Jan. 20, 1950, to George (Fritz) Krumme and Ila Jean (Cogdill) Krumme. She was a 1967 graduate of Faucett High School.

Nancy retired from the Missouri Department of Corrections, having worked as an officer and case manager.

She was a member of Sparta Methodist Church. She was an accomplished pianist, taught by Margaret Cooke. She enjoyed reading, painting and fishing.

Nancy was married to Jerry Deatherage. They welcomed three children, Jeffrey, Brian, and Mark. She later married Frank Nichols. Nancy was looking forward to being a great-grandmother.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard; son, Mark; and husbands, Jerry and Frank; and companion, John Schildknecht.

Survivors include sons, Jeffrey and Brian; grandchildren, Ronnie Propher, Jayden Deatherage and Carder Deatherage; and siblings, Gail Tyler (Ed) and Alan Krumme (Cathy); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. at Sparta Methodist Church. Her cousins Pastor Rodney Krumme and Reverend JoAnn Ford will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service. Inurnment will be held at the Agency Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be directed to Sparta Methodist Church.
