McCammon, Robert 1942-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Robert McCammon, 82, St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025. He was born Oct. 18, 1942, in King City, Missouri, to Robert and Jennie (Sherard) McCammon.
On April 8, 1967, Robert married Patricia Ann Forbes, who survives of the home.
He owned and operated Midwest Mobile Radio Service and Mobilpage since 1963, at one time having almost all pager contracts in St. Joseph.
Robert loved hunting and the shooting sports. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, and a member of the St. Joseph Rifle & Pistol Association, Missouri Sport Shooting Association, and Bucksnort Shooting Club. He participated in High-Power Rifle competitions where he was on the Missouri state team and won Missouri State Champion three times. He also competed in the nationals at Camp Perry, Ohio.
He and his family went on twice-yearly trips to Canada for both hunting and fishing. He enjoyed passing on his skills to both of his children.
Robert and Pat enjoyed traveling, having been to 49 of the 50 states and all but one of the Canadian provinces.
He was a member of Lodge #337 AF & AM and was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Pat; his children, Bill McCammon (Shelly) and Michele McCammon; grandchildren, Robert McCammon, Luke McCammon, and Jocelyn Brashears; great-grandchild, Ian Gallope; sister, Mary Williams (Bob); several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Tinker.
Farewell Services 10 a.m. Tuesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
