Blake, Sherry F. 1952-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Sherry Faith Blake, 72, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025, at a local health care facility. She was born Nov. 30, 1952, in Clarinda, Iowa, daughter of Freda (Hiles) and Gerald Blake.

She graduated from Benton High School. Sherry enjoyed going out to eat, listening to music, crocheting and playing cards, specifically Solitaire.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Blake; mother, Freda Sill; and brother, Keith Blake.

Survivors include children, Shawn Starling, of Kansas City, Missouri, Jolene Portillo, of St. Joseph, Rocky (Timothy) Hamm, of St. Joseph, Kena Leer, of St. Joseph, and Matthew (April) Young, of St. Joseph; brother, Russell Blake, of St. Joseph; 21 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, at the Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Monday. Interment will follow services at Memorial Park Cemetery.
