Wilson, Betty E. 1942-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Ellen Castle, on Friday, Aug. 29, 2025. She was born on Aug. 20, 1942, in St Joseph, to Ernest Ransom and Bessie Mae (Turner) Castle.
As a lifelong resident of St Joseph, Betty cultivated a life rich in love and laughter. A loving mother, a friend to many and a remarkable woman. Betty’s nurturing spirit and boundless love will live on in the hearts of her children. Betty had many talents and was passionate about gardening, cooking and especially her family.
Betty’s friends remember her as a generous giving person who loved to cook and spend time with them visiting, playing cards and working puzzles.
Betty was known for her warm and caring personality and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Forrest “Dude” Castle; and her sister, Dollie McArthur.
Survivors include her loving children, John Klawuhn, Daniel Klawuhn, Dawn Knabenshue (Rick), and Adonia Leigh; her treasured grandchildren, Amanda Saunders (Dave), Jake Klawuhn (Amy), Jessica Rambin (Glen), Amy Spofford (Reese), Ellen Ewart Atieh, Garrett Klawuhn, Dylan Klawuhn (Stephanie), Brittany Hunsinger, Carista Leigh, and Mikey Leigh II; as well as her delightful great-grandchildren, Hazel, Jaycie, Julia, Sophia, Lake, Jakson, Ari, Braxton, Grayson, Brynzlee, Amelia, Elijah, and Caleb.
