Wildberger, Connie 1949-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Connie Wildberger, 76, of St. Joseph, passed away Aug. 13, 2025. She was born on March 2, 1949, to Virgil Ray and Esther Irene (Bechter) Kent, in Maryville, Missouri.
She grew up in Rea, Missouri, and graduated from North Andrew High School in 1967. She then attended St. Joseph Junior College.
On June 2, 1968, she was united in marriage to Ed Wildberger. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph where they made their home.
Connie worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue for over 30 years.
She was a member of the Rea Union Church where she taught Sunday School. Connie was also a member of the Northwest Missouri Democrat Club and the St. Joseph Firefighters Ladies Auxiliary. Connie had a passion for taking care of others, enjoyed flower gardening and antiques. She was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan and loved watching her family play softball and baseball.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Charles Wildberger, Henry Assel and Ronnie Huss; sister-in-law, Denise Wildberger; and her grandson, Chaz Wildberger.
She is survived by her husband, Ed; daughter, Shelly Leader; grandson, Zachary Leader; brother, Steven (Teresa) Kent; brother-in-law, Roger Wildberger; sisters-in-law, Linda Wildberger, Donna Assel, Charlene Huss; cousins, Pat and Etta Wildberger; her dog, Whit; several nieces and nephews, whom she greatly loved and cherished; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service: 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower with visitation following until 8 p.m.
Inurnment at a later date: Allen Cemetery, Gower, Missouri.
