Munger, Frances 1930-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Frances “Jean” (O’Dell) Munger, 94, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025, at Mosaic Life Care. She was born Nov. 27, 1930, in Bovee, South Dakota, daughter of Grace (Munn) and Henry O’Dell.

She married Norman Munger on April 25, 1947. She worked for Seitz Foods. Jean loved to fish and enjoyed the many fishing trips her and Norman shared together. She was a member of the Sparta United Methodist Church and later Wesley United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; her parents; son, David Munger; her seven sisters; and two brothers; grandsons, Jimmy Joe Munger II, and Josh Munger; and daughter-in-law, Betty Munger.

Survivors include sons, Jimmy Munger Sr., Frankie (Judy) Munger and Terry Munger, all of St. Joseph; daughter-in-law, Marsha Munger, of Clarksdale, Missouri; grandchildren, Jason, Mandy, Amy, Jeremy, Tiffany and Erin; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will follow services at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in St. Joseph.
