Prather, Stephanie G. 1955-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Stephanie Gayle Prather, 69, of St Joseph, passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Monday, June 16, 2025, in St. Joseph. She was born Oct. 30, 1955, in Atchison, Kansas, daughter of the late Lorene (Sampson) and Walter Prather.

She graduated from DeKalb, Missouri, High School and Missouri Western State College. She retired as a Vice-President of Equity Bank.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dixie Matthews; brothers-in-law, John Salcedo, Richard “Dickie” Matthews and Ray Eggert; and niece, Aneia Marriott.

Survivors include sisters, Geri Eggert and Janet Salcedo, both of St. Joseph; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at Westlawn Cemetery, DeKalb. Memorials are requested to the DeKalb Christian Church.
