Jodi (Pitluck) Kanatzar, 53, St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025. She was born July 9, 1971, in St. Joseph, to Jon and Janice (Harris) Pitluck. She was a 1989 graduate of Central High School and attended Stephens College.

Jodi married Steve Kanatzar on May 14, 2005. He survives of the home.

She was a pharmacy tech for Lincare for 28 years.

Jodi was a warm, outgoing, generous person who was always up for an adventure and loved to have fun. She loved traveling, especially to the beach and Lake of the Ozarks, shopping for clothes, going to concerts, and Chiefs and Royals ballgames.

Jodi had a close group of friends known for their “girls’ nights out.” Carla, Jill, Stephanie, and Tracy became part of Jodi’s family.

She was a bright light in her family’s lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Steve; stepchildren, Brandon Kanatzar (Jalaina) and Brooke Cortez (Robert); step-grandchildren, Zach Kanatzar (Jordyn), Ashley Kanatzar, Rylee Kanatzar, Ziggy Cortez, and Gianna Cortez; step-great-grandchild, Creightyn Kanatzar; brother, Eric Pitluck, his wife, Marnie, their daughter, Natalie Pitluck; her stepmother, Anita Pitluck; stepsister, Stacey Nichols, her husband, Tony, and their children, Aidan Conaway and Abbey Chauvin; her aunt, Judy Moreno (Julian); uncle, Steve Pitluck (Jeanie); other extended family and friends; and her beloved cat, Chloe.

A special thanks to all of her doctors and nurses. Especially the ones at KU Med CA11.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 3 p.m. Saturday, June 14, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Wayside Waifs.
