Wilma F. Johnson, 88, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024, in St. Joseph. She was born Feb. 20, 1936, in Jerico Springs, Missouri, daughter of Sadie and James Bridgewater.

She married Edward Johnson on Dec. 3, 1960. She began her work at Whittaker Cable, later at Terrible’s Casino and a long time cook for Kathy’s Cafe. She enjoyed playing bingo, country music, and spending time with her grandchildren. Wilma was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Edward Johnson.

Survivors include children, Ravonda Schoeneck of Elwood, Kansas, James E (Linda) Johnson of Stanberry, Missouri, and Ross (Shelly) Johnson-Bridgewater of Effingham, Kansas; sisters, Nona Gregory, Ruby Baublit and Nora Meeks, all of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Chris Johnson, Jimmy Johnson, Dakota Bridgewater, Leann Williams; many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at the Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday.

The Interment will be at the Allen Cemetery, Gower, Missouri.
