Steward, Glennrose 1934-2024 St. Joseph, Mo.

Glennrose “Posy” Steward, 90, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2024, at Mosaic Life Care. She was born Jan. 20, 1934, in St. Joseph, daughter of Elva and Virgil Gann. She graduated from Benton High School class of 1952. She worked at Mead Products, where she retired after 42 years. She attended church at Evolution United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included fishing and camping and bowling. She enjoyed time working and being outdoors. She was also artistic and crafty. Glennrose will be remembered for her orneriness.

She was preceded in death by father, Virgil Snow Gann; mother, Elva Irene Gann; son, Stevey Woolard; siblings, Betty Hovey, Dale Gann, Lois Burnett, Dorothy Burnett, Robert Gann, Sara “Sudie” Peck; niece, Crystal Simmons; and son-in-law, Joseph Furgeson.

Survivors include her companion of over 30 years, Kenneth Flint, of St. Joseph; children, Johnny (Vickie) Woolard, of Agency, Missouri, Janet Furgeson, of St. Joseph, and Shelly Guthrie (Tryston), of St. Joseph; sisters, Janie McVicker, of St. Joseph, and Judy Goben, of St Joseph; grandchildren, Jason (Sue), Rachel (Roger), Jennifer, Jolene (John), Jessie (Tiffany), Jessica (Taven), Candy (Andy), Michael (Rachel); 15 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Interment will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Gift of Life Marrow Registry or Evolution United Methodist Church.
