Louis R. Killackey, 75, rode off into the sunset on Aug. 14, 2024, and was greeted by his father, Jack; mother, Betty; and brother, John; among other family members. Louis was the son of Jack and Betty (Pinkston) Killackey.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; and brother, John.
Louis is survived by his sister-in-law, Linda Killackey Whitley; niece, Addie Killackey Deinlein (Risto); their children, Jack and Sydney; nephew, Sean Killackey (Elizabeth); their daughter, Brianne; as well as many friends and family members around the world. Louis is also survived by dear family friend and caregiver, Pam Brock (Chip).
Louis graduated from Central High School in 1967, and he attended Coe College in Iowa as well as MWSU. Louis was a very successful real estate agent and stock broker in California.
Louis made generous contributions to Sanborn Western Camps in Colorado as well as sending his nieces and nephew there to enjoy the beauty that he loved so much. He would smile ear to ear when he spoke of being a cowboy, which came with his own saddle and chaps.
He had a life-sized wooden horse that he outbid Ralph Lauren for, which is named Stormy Dodger. Stormy now resides at the Pony Express Museum. Louis donated some of his Disney pictures to the Helen Davis State School. They lined the hallways, and the kids got to enjoy them every day as they walked the halls. Louis had a generous heart and was always wanting to help the underserved.
The family would like to thank these Mosaic Hospice employees, Jason, Jim, Heidi, Alethia, Missy and Jessica, for their gentle care and love shown to Louis for the past 2 ½ years.
