Susan F. (Gartland) Fortune, 58, St. Joseph, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

She was born May 29, 1965, in St. Joseph, to James and Rosalie (Huffman) Gartland

Susan was loving, kind, compassionate, giving, and hardworking all her life. She was articulate, loved to paint and was very crafty.

Her most cherished love was for her granddaughter, Macie. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her daughter, Natasha Fostek (John); granddaughter, Macie Fortune; sister, Theresa Moore (Ty); and best friend, Mary Brooks.

Natural Farewell under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in St. Louis, Missouri.
